Multi-Disciplinary Task Forces

What are the Task Forces?

The Multidisciplinary Teams are composed of organizations, which have come together to explore and understand the impact domestic violence and sexual assault have on a community both directly and indirectly, and how we, as community members, need to find ways to address these issues.

Each of the 8 counties served by the House of Ruth, Inc. has a Team composed of community/civic groups, social service agencies, medical personnel, and judicial and law enforcement agencies. The only criteria to join the meetings is to have an interest in alleviating the pre-and-post-crime traumas associated with domestic violence and sexual assault through collaborative intervention.

The Purpose of the Multi-disciplinary Team Meetings Is Three-Fold:

Enable representatives from a diversity of organizations throughout the county to get to know each other one-on-one while working toward developing similar understandings of domestic violence and sexual assault issues.
Provide an appropriate forum for groups and individuals to express and resolve differences on the interpretation and resolution of these issues.
Help provide consistency and coordination between agencies by insuring the best policies and practices are used to ensure the safety of victims and other family members while holding the perpetrators accountable.
